The List of Everyday Things to Use in Your Lockdown Workout
Don’t know what to do during lockdowns? Well, we think that you’ve got a perfect opportunity to start changing your life and become a healthier and happier version of yourself. When you can go out on your regular jog session or in your favourite gym, it is time to become creative and use your household things for a fun workout.
But, what things from my home can possibly be used for my daily workouts, you may wonder? Oh, we’re so glad you asked! Here is the list!
• Cans of Food
We hope you stocked up on canned food when the first lockdown happened. Now you can use these cans of chilli and refried beans to train your biceps. You don’t need to waste money on weights, and metal cans can later be used as pots for plants. A win-win situation in our book!
• Backpack
If you used to work out with a weighted vest, you might have a need to replace it with something. And your lovely backpack is an excellent choice for this matter! Just put some books or any other heavy things in it, and wear it as a regular vest. Trust us: you will see little to no difference with this alternative and will enjoy your fitness session as usual.
• Towel
Now it’s time to use your towel for something more than just wiping your forehead. It is your new multipurpose tool for an effective workout! Use it as a resistance band, slider, or a yoga mat. There’s plenty of exercises that can be done with a bath or hand towel, and they can be performed by you just as well as with professional equipment.
• Couch
That couch was made for resting! And that’s just what you’ll do. But one of these days, considers using it as a powerful workout helper for you.
We think that with your one couch you can replace all your gym equipment. For example, it can be used as a workout bench or a bosu for balance training. It is only up to your creativity how you can use a couch in a workout, but it sure will be fun!
• Stairs
It is your brand new cardio machine that costs nothing and always was here. Now it is time to use your stairs as a perfect alternative to a step platform. It’s easy, effective, and you can do countless things on your stairs that will help you stay fit.
• Heavy Skillet
Out of food cans? Just use a good cast iron skillet for your triceps training. It can be used in a huge variety of exercises where you need to use heavyweights. Also, just imagine how easy it will be to cook a good protein breakfast for your family now. We are sure that you’ll be using your cast iron skillet like a pro!
• Nothing at all
Some effective exercises, like planks, don’t require any equipment. Sit-ups, jumps, push-ups: that’s just some of them, and the list goes on and on. If you have a personal trainer, he or she can make a program with those kinds of exercises, perfect for your needs.
